Updates and calls for support!
Building Stability, One Step at a Time
We’ve finally started to build some real stability. Our house is now home to several men and is quickly approaching 70% occupancy. It’s a beautiful thing to witness—men rebuilding their lives, reconnecting with children and family, and refocusing their hearts on God.
The past few months have been exciting as we’ve stretched our legs and begun to grow. The Army taught me to crawl, walk, then run—and this journey is no different.
Our Challenges
Loss of a state grant
Finding sustainable funding for our residents
Changing perceptions about recovery housing
Keeping our thrift store strong
Losing a state grant was a hit to our operations, but it’s also forced us to adapt and get creative. We’re learning new ways to keep moving forward—some are straightforward, others require a little more persistence and ingenuity.
Changing perceptions in our community has already begun. Our staff and leadership team are often humbled by the encouragement we receive from people across Colville. And really, what’s not to support? We’re helping men—many fresh out of treatment or incarceration—rebuild their lives with a nearly 70% success rate using the social model of recovery and recovery housing.
The results speak for themselves: recovery housing works, and our community needs it. That need is even greater because of another challenge we face—a severe housing shortage, especially for those in lower income brackets. We’re working on that too.
A New Chapter: Bridges Thrift
We’ve also opened our thrift store at 284 W. Astor in Colville. It’s more than a store—it’s a way to support our mission while offering affordable, quality items to the community. Stop by, shop, and say hello!
The thrift store runs on the generosity of our community, so we gladly accept donations of lightly used, well-cared-for clothing, furniture, and household goods. If you’re unsure what we can take, our manager, Jen, is happy to help.
Every day at Bridges of Hope, we see lives transformed—not just for the men we serve, but for their families and our community. Your support makes that possible. Whether it’s donating to our thrift store, giving financially, or volunteering your time and talents, you become part of the restoration story. Together, we can open more doors, build more bridges, and create lasting change.
Together, we can turn “what if” into “what’s next.”
Be the bridge to someone’s new beginning.
